Professional Background

My professional journey has been a diverse and enriching one, allowing me to support individuals facing a wide range of challenges. From people with varying degrees of mental health difficulties, to assisting those navigating neurodiversity, disability, and illness.

  • As a Senior Psychologist in a Primary Care team for the HSE, I had the privilege of providing comprehensive support to adults with mental health difficulties while also working closely with children navigating diverse challenges. Collaborating with parents, I facilitated a deeper understanding of their child's difficulties and empowered them to develop skillful responses to nurture their child's well-being. This role allowed me to make a meaningful impact on individuals of all ages, fostering resilience and promoting holistic growth.
  • I've worked within a Community Mental Health team, offering specialized interventions to individuals coping with significant mental health challenges.
  • I served as an Assistant Psychologist in a secure unit for young offenders, where I had the privilege of contributing to their psychological well-being and rehabilitation journey.
  • I've worked as a care worker in a residential home for adults with Autism.
  • I've worked in an Autism unit, providing support to young children facing behavioral challenges associated with ASD. This experience ignited my curiousity to delve deeper into understanding behavior and acquire the expertise needed to make a positive impact.

Public Speaking

As a Clinical Psychologist, I've delivered groups, educational sessions, and spoken at conferences. I've provided education sessions to GP practices through the East Coast Area Diabetes (ECAD) committee, supporting GPs to address the psychological and social needs of patients, especially those with chronic health conditions. Additionally, I presented at the annual ECAD diabetes conference on three occasions, including highlighting the psychological impact of Covid. Furthermore, I conduct educational sessions for staff groups on stress management in the workplace.
